The electronic card counter LEC
was developed to enable the customer to count almost
every card type which is produced actually with just
one type of counter. Another issue was the cards to
remain in the LOUDA standard magazines allowing to count
during the production process (for example for auditing
purposes) without the need to prepare counting stacks
in boxes or other containers, which, in most cases,
have to be emptied for further processing again. The
counting works by means of a vision system which takes
pictures of the stack while a camera is travelling along
the magazine. These exposures are evaluated by means
of a software especially developed for this purpose.
Each counting cycle is carried out twice in order to
verify the countig result. The counter has been sold
very successfully since it was launched in 1999 as it
has proven to be very reliable and flexible.
